Registration, Cancellation and Refund Policy

Registration and cancellation terms for Construction Desert Schools

Last updated: 27 July 2026

1. Introduction

This policy applies to registrations for Construction Desert Schools (CDS), organised by SCPM Training and Consult L.L.C (SCPM). By registering, participants acknowledge and agree to these terms.

2. Registration confirmation

A registration is confirmed only when:

• the registration form has been completed;

• payment has been successfully received; and

• SCPM has issued written confirmation.

Participation rights may not be transferred, assigned or resold without SCPM's prior written approval.

3. Participant cancellation

Because places are limited and the programme requires advance venue, catering, transport and operational commitments, the following cancellation terms apply:

Cancellation timing

Refund

More than 60 days before the programme

Full refund, less payment-processing fees and reasonable administrative costs.

31 to 60 days before the programme

75% refund of the registration fee.

21 to 30 days before the programme

50% refund of the registration fee.

20 days or fewer before the programme

No refund.

4. Participant substitutions

A substitute participant from the same organisation may attend, subject to written approval by SCPM. Requests must be submitted at least 14 days before the programme begins. SCPM may decline a substitution where suitability, security, accreditation or operational considerations apply.

5. Exceptional circumstances

SCPM may, at its discretion, consider a partial refund, credit or registration transfer where serious illness, medical emergency, bereavement, visa refusal or another exceptional circumstance is supported by reasonable documentation. Any accommodation is assessed individually and does not create a precedent or entitlement.

6. Programme changes

SCPM may reasonably change programme content, speakers, faculty, schedules, venues, site visits, networking activities or timings. Such changes do not create an automatic right to a refund where the programme's overall nature and purpose remain substantially unchanged.

7. Cancellation by SCPM

If SCPM cancels the programme and does not reschedule it, participants will be entitled to a refund of registration fees paid. To the extent permitted by law, SCPM is not responsible for flights, accommodation, visas, travel insurance, personal expenses, loss of business opportunity or other indirect costs. Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain suitable travel insurance.

8. Events beyond reasonable control

Where an event beyond SCPM's reasonable control prevents or materially affects delivery, SCPM may reschedule the programme, provide a registration credit or offer reasonable alternative arrangements. Examples include natural disasters, government restrictions, public-health emergencies, civil unrest, travel disruption, utility failure or terrorism.

9. Refund processing

Approved refunds will normally be made to the original payment method. Processing times depend on banking and payment providers but are generally completed within 14 business days after approval.
